Photo Reference for August Virtual Sketch Date

Welcome to the August 2008 Virtual Sketch Date!

The reference for this sketch date is above. (You can see a larger version here on Flickr.) It was kindly provided by Sherrie Roberts. You can visit Sherrie's blog here. If you've never joined in or were curious about what this is, please see the guidelines below. This is just a bit of fun for some online artist friends.

How It Works
  1. You need to comment on this post to be included.
  2. You have until Saturday August 30th to complete your drawing.
  3. You should then post your entry on your blog sometime on Saturday August 30th.
  4. I will create a post on this blog on Sunday the 31st with links to everyone's entry.
Art Guidelines
  1. Any medium is fine, graphite, charcoal, digital painting, colored pencils, etc have all been used.
  2. You are free to crop the image however you want, include what you want, exclude what you don't.

I am humbled! I hope you find it challenging and a joy! Thank-you so much for all the wonderful compliments.
I have decided to go backwards and do the first one and post on my Flickr.

Mine is so hard for me. Please note: I also, entered it into American Photo Contest for the up and coming photographers. One of ten photos.
I am so excited. Little chance of being seen in that group. Just had to have a go!

Hidely-ho all,

Okay... I'm in. This is a neat picture. Looks like another pen/ink and, possibly, a watercolor version of this.

For those interested, I also post the pictures of the pieces while they're in progress: http://bugstumper.blogspot.com

Hi all,

Okay, mine is done. It's at http://bugstumper.blogspot.com and is called Feeding time. I'm hoping to get a watercolor version of it done before the weekend, but it's looking pretty slim for that.

Ivetopaint,
I think your painting is gorgeous! I have tried to get my yahoo account to let me comment at Flickr, and it thwarts me.
Your painting is just terrific, so I am telling you here.

Thanks to everyone for so many positive comments. I had fun and certainly look forward to doing this again. Thanks to all those that made it possible and you've only to ask if there is something I can ever do to help.
