August Sketch Date

Hey Gang! A few things...

I've added subscription buttons to the sidebar on VSD, so you can now subscribe to find out what's happening without having to check back.

The VSD reference for August will be posted on August 22nd. The actual sketch date is on the 30th, a week later.

Call for volunteers! We need a reference for the sketch date in August. The first person to comment on this post with a suitable reference (see guidelines to the left) will be the provider. Please do not email myself or Jeanette - it makes it too hard when we get some offers over email and some in the comments. If you have already done it, please let someone else offer.

To simplify things, we are going to continue the trend of having the sketch date during the last week of the month. So the sketch date will generally be on the last Saturday of the month, the reference will come out about a week before.

Wow, everyone,such willing volunteers!

I shouldn't have phrased it like I did in the post, I intended to say the first person to post a comment will be the volunteer, not that they had to have the photo ready. My bad. I will be more clear next month.

To be fair, let's do it this way. If Sherrie Roberts (quilt knit) wants to do it this month, then she's the volunteer because she posted a comment first. If she'd rather wait, then it will fall to Sharon. Then Belinda can be next after Sharon.

So, Sherrie is the photo provider, with Sharon as a backup. If Sherrie does it this month then we'll have Sharon in September and Belinda in October.

I have looked at everyone's photos and I'm drooling...these are going to be a few good months! Can't wait.

Sharon, I think we'll keep the system running now as it is. I don't want people to get lost on where we are, what photo, or when to post. But I will keep the suggestion in mind. I don't want to start running a photo reference board. This little project has just grown beyond all my expectations (I originally thought it would be unlikely for Jeanette to be a part!)

We'll see what happens this month and take it from there.

Thanks for your patience everyone.

I have put the photos on Flickr.

I have two that are from the Sea and two that are from the Earth. I love them all. So, for VSD which do you think is the most interesting?

Hey Gang!

Sherrie is going to be the provider for this month, we'll announce which photo on the 22nd.

Sharon (and the gorgeous tree peony, if she is still willing to share it...I hope, I hope) will be up for September.

Belinda will be up for October.

See you all on the 22nd, I'll do a post with photo in it.

Hi Rose. first, last month I don't think I thanked for you administering this VSD--it's really wonderful: Thank you!! I don't think I have a photo (lost a lot recently) but I will keep submitting on for future VSDs in mind.

Thanks, actually Jeanette Jobson did the admin work last month. I'm on for this month. I'm sure we'll enjoy a photo of yours when we get there! :D

Life has been hectic and I'm sorry I didn't get back on the tea peony photo. It's available for the next VSD, if you still want to use it. Just let me know what to do...
