September 2008 Virtual Sketch Date - The Reference

Welcome to the September Virtual Sketch Date!

The reference for the sketch date is above. A larger version can be found here on Flickr. It was kindly provided by Sharon. You can visit Sharon's blog here. Below are the guidelines for participating in the Virtual Sketch Date. The purpose is to have fun with some online artist friends.

How It Works
  1. You need to comment on this post to be included. If you have multiple blogs, it is helpful if you can leave a link to or the title of the blog that will have your Virtual Sketch Date image.
  2. You have until Saturday, September 27th to complete your drawing.
  3. You should then post your entry on your blog sometime on Saturday, September 27th.
  4. I will create a post on this blog on Sunday, September 28th with links to everyone's entry.
Art Guidelines
  1. Any medium is fine -- graphite, charcoal, digital painting, colored pencils, watercolor, pen & ink, etc. have all been used.
  2. You are free to crop the image however you want -- include what you want, exclude what you don't.

I just could not resist doing this in color. So in a self-education effort, I've use Derwent inktense pencils on pastelboard for the color version. My first use of both materials. Take a look at tintsandhues.blogspot.com. Thanks again for getting back on the art path after a long summer of gardening.
